Jim,

I want you to know that the Blackhawk, Diablo, Danville, Alamo CA area has 
collected
 $1 million for the fund to provide for widows and children of fire fighters 
and police officers.  This is a compassionate area and we started with card 
tables, signs, and flags set a long a busy boulevard and folks pulled over to 
find out how they could help.  One of the first was a man who said I'll match 
the first $25,000!

We lost several in our community like Tom Bennett who leaves his wife Deena 
and twin 5 y/o daughters and a 3 y/o daughter.  It appears he was 
instrumental in getting the plane down in PA and not the White House as did 
another local Mark Bingham.  My oldest son knew one of the girls on board who 
worked out at the same gym that he does.  The flight attendant from Oakland 
was on several of my Oakland flights over the years.

When all is said and done every American will know someone who knew someone 
that was lost on Sept. 11.
