Small amounts injected into muscles, especially around the face, cause temporary paralysis which provides relief from facial tics (uncontrollable twitching). The more vanity driven set uses that same paralysis effect to relax the area at the corners of the eyes to reduce the "crows feet" that plague such types. Maybe the GM braniacs could put a botulism toxin generation gene into the wrinkled varieties of peppers, making them smoother and easier to peel after roasting.
