Sulphur Springs is East Texas country, closer to Louisiana than most of Texas. I've never been there, but I'd recommend your friend go to either a large supermarket, especially a Hispanic one, and have them bring you back things like cans of chipolte en adobo, pickled jalapenos, dried chiles and maybe some fresh piquins (they're small and they won't rot). You might also have her look for some louisiana hot sauces and spice mixes like Tony Cachere's or Zatarains. If you want to really load them down, have them bring you some masa and dried cornhusks so you can make your own tortillas and tamales.
