Manufacturers' technicians admit the machines will have to be zapping on high to kill anthrax and that will kill seeds and peppers. I think one machine is in use (probably to process DC mail), but 8 have been ordered so far. I should think there are alternative ways, but that seems to be the way the post office wants to go, and to hell with the livelihoods of mail order seed and plant company owners and genetic diversity.
