About a year ago, a friend sent me a packet of Grill
Creations Smokey Chipotle Marinade Mix. Since I rarely
cook with mixes it just sat in my cabinet for a year.
Then I bought a Top Round beef steak and
thought...what will I do with it?
So I took out the packet. I cut some slits in the meat
and put some garlic in it and then I did what they
said on the packet.
I didn't marinate as long as they said. I cooked it
the way I like and....it was good. But not especially
spicy.
A slight chipotle smoke flavor. Very light and barely
any heat.
What did I expect? About the same. But it was quite
flavorful.
Will I use it again? Probably not.
It did make for a delicious holiday meal though.
Served with potato latkes it was quite good. DH was
happy he got beef (not something I make all that
often). I was happy to use something up from the
pantry.
Has anyone else tried this? It is by Durkee, BTW.
