I was cooking corn pudding tonight for The Mother (who does not tolearte heat) and The Brother. The recipe called for black pepper, and I discovered that I don't have any in my kitchen. So, I used a little bit of Pico de Gallo spice instead. Enough to enhance the flavor, not enough to make it so hot the TM wouldn't eat it. She liked it actually. My mother actually tonight, for the first time, said "she can cook." Thanks Mom.
