Hi All -- I was in my local Asian market (Buford Hwy Farmer's Market for you ATL-area CH's) over the weekend and spotted some beautiful manzano chiles. Since I don't see these very often, I picked up about half a dozen or so. I've been eating them like they're going out of style ever since -- tastiest (sweetest) manzanos I have ever had. That said, I have started saving the seeds. Anyone interested in manzano seeds please send me an off-list e-mail and I will be happy to send you some (while supplies last) once they are dry. On a related note, does anybody have any good recipes for manzanos? Last night, I did kind of an East-West mussel stew with PEI mussels, shiitake mushrooms, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, yellow and green onions, celery, Chinese sausage, Vietnamese fish sauce, and manzano chiles. Served the stew with shrimp summer rolls (also had manzanos) and nuoc cham. I want to make manzano poppers next.... I'd love to hear some other ideas. Hope all is well.
