I don't mind some saltiness, but don't want it to be the main taste. (Same with chips) Guess that's why I like the Mezzetta's. I taste the olive and hab flavors first and the salt is more undercurrent than main attraction. I enjoy exploring foods, tho, so thanks for telling us about the jal olive you like. I will check that one out -- after all, I won't know if it is "too" salty until I try it. Taste is a funny funny thing. Recently on another list, several people said they cannot eat cilantro -- it makes food taste like soap to them! One said it wasn't a matter of whether she "liked" cilantro, she had no choice; her taste buds produce soap from cilantro. Gyaack! She said some people have enzymes in their mouths which create that chemical reaction. She also said she originally could eat cilantro and then one day, suddenly, it all changed for her. Now cilantro = soap. Fascinating. Am glad I don't have those anti-cilantro guys hanging out in my mouth! Would hate to give up cilantro (she said, making warding-off sign). Tee
