Being native to tropical regions such as amazon having 90 F temps every day and humidity probably usually closer to 100% than 90%, those beautiful big C. chinense leaves transpire at such a rapid rate they wilt to a very sad-looking state in 90 F weather even when ambient humidity is 90%. Just imagine what those leaves will do somewhere in SW USA in 90 F heat with only 20%, or 2%, humidity. They would probably be in a very much sadder-looking state. Perhaps even a "toast" state. --- Brent
