Guys, Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, Central Square in Cambridge Mass. was filled with Chinese restaurants. Mary Chung's is still there and a few I'm probably totally forgetting, and The Middle East is still there as well. What it has now become filled with is mostly Indian restaurants. I suggest you browse Central Square, along with the other suggestions that have been made. Oh, and while Mary's is a small place and there are often long lines, it's good stuff. Royal East serves dim sum, particularly swan la chow sho, which is sort of similar to refresh-your-face-off bean sprouts combined with wontons. It's usually pretty spicy. One Texas company to get your fix from is Pendery's. If you don't already know about them, they have a website now (www.penderys.com), so you could even order goodies from them online. Things like that should mitigate the terrors of withdrawal. And, yes, the housing costs in the Boston and Greater Boston Area are astronomic. It's one of several reasons we hightailed it out of there. Out here over near Chelm(sford), hot sauces and some ingredients are making their ways here in the supermarkets, so all is not lost. In the Boston-Cambridge-Somerville area you should be able to find hot items a bit more readily even in the supermarkets. And of course, the East Coast Grill is home to Inner Beauty jerk sauces (which you probably knew). If you're around in the state in June, come out to Jim McGrath's hotluck! We live about 2 towns away, so we usually manage to make it. (I currently haven't a CLUE what I'll bring to it, though.) Watch for updates from Jim (or just ask him). -babs
