A friend of mine asked if I knew where to get yellow bell pepper that had some heat. I think he mentioned it was an old heirloom. Has anyone heard of a pepper like this? If not, it shouldn't be too hard the develop a new hot yellow bell. I've read that the heat gene(s) are dominant, so it shouldn't be hard to cross a bell with something hot and get a hot bell. But the lack of any hot bells out there makes me wonder if it's not so easy. I've tried Mexi-bells in the past, but those were so mild I had to ask a non-CH to try one just to make sure there actually was some heat. I do have one "Hells Bells" plant that I got from Hobby Farmer last year at the open fields. The Hells Bells plant has yet to produce a pod for me (but I'm sure will this summer), and I don't know much about it other than that it is a hot bell that Jim C. is or was developing. Please post other information or stories of hot bells if you have them. Mike Benson
