On the weekend of the annual April hotluck in Madison, Clifty Falls state park is full of wild onions, to the point of them being an invasive nuisance. I don't know if the rangers would allow some harvesting, and if not, I don't think they can watch every bit of the park every minute. Especially the brush behind my campsite. I'm not sure if these are exactly the same onions as the ramps, but they're probably pretty similar. Since I try to bring a new recipe to the hotluck each year, maybe for 2003 I'll come up with something using the onions. A spreadable snack cheese comes immediately to mind, but I also wonder what kind of Thai/Asian flavors would combine well with the onion flavors. - A _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
