I'm reading the C-H digest and see some people are having trouble hardening off plants. I didn't have the time or the help to harden them off this year, so I just planted them in the garden, used the three ring tomato cages over them then use snap clothespins to hold two full double pages of newspaper over the top. Newspaper droops down, and protects plants from noon overhead heat, but allows sun to reach the plants in early morning and late afternoon. I'll leave that on for a week or so, then probably take the newspapers completely off. This is the easiest way I know, and I've done it for years. Margaret L
