I've never made a soda bread--is all that oil really needed? What happens
if you cut it back to, say, 2 tbsp? Drier? Won't keep as long? Taste goes
to hell? imwk! Guess I should try it and find out, huh?

Just finished up the drip irrigation. We have a few more (24) chiles to get
in the ground (late!!!) but all is done for the most part. Have some
over-wintered plants almost ready to go! Speaking of which we have a couple
serranos that have been in the ground 3- 4 years and going strong. I
seemed to recall seeing that c. annuum doesn't do well after a year or so?
The plants that made it through at least one winter here in s. calif. are
rocotos (c. pubescens), aji amarillos (c. baccatum) and habs (c. chinense).
And serranos.

Hot regards,
