So let's say, hypothetically of course, that during the making of some curried shrimp, I ended up with capsaicin (from scotch bonnet peppers) all over my face and in my eyes. Hypothetically only, you understand, since I'd never be stupid enough to do this for real. What would be the best way to stop the extremely painful (yet hypothetical) burning? Washing my face with buttermilk (since I was out of hypothetical regular milk) and some time in an air-conditioned room seems to have done the trick, but is there a better way to deal with this? If, of course, it ever happens. thanks! eric
