Everything is doing just great, habs and savinas four feet tall and three feet across, loaded with pods just beginning to get ripe. But the piece de resistance are the chiltepins! I haven't grown them for several years and forgot how huge and prolific they can be - thanks to those who sent seeds when my own weren't germinating too well. Had my first ripe one yesterday, not much burn at first and I was kind of disappointed, but then the heat kicked in and numbed the whole side of my mouth - could have gone to the dentist and had a tooth pulled with no pain. Unbelieveable how much long lasting heat these little dudes have. And the taste is really something special too. I'll soon be making the salsa I told you all about earlier, will try to remember to post the recipe. Those of you who haven't tried these, give em a try. Fred the habaneronut
