Today, we drove a long way, up north in NJ to go to a
Corn Festival. It was some festival. Small enough so
the kid doesn't get lost, enough stuff for kids to do
so they aren't bored, and decent food. Plus a great
farmers market.

They had a lot of different corn foods to eat - corn
on the cob, corn dogs, corn chowder, corn tamales,
corn fritters, you could go corn crazy. I had 2
tamales and some fritters. The tamales were ok. They
weren't that hot - could've been warmed up a bit
before serving. Not soft enough inside and the insides
were ok in taste. Nothing special and no heat. Didn't
expect any. Didn't bring any reserve products either
to brighten the flavor. Oh well. The fritters were
really tasty though.

In the farmers market, surprise...surprise!! Several
fun things to buy - Pain Is Good Chipotle Seasoning,
lots of Kiss My Ass products, and a green sauce I've
never seen before - forgot the name now. Bought a
bottle. Price was good - $3.49. I had tried some of it
on the tamales - it had some actual heat. Not a heck
of a lot of it but some heat. I have never found a
green sauce that packed any heat. This one was good.
When I get a chance, I'll post the name. So I came
home with 2 new HOT products - the chipotle seasoning
which is pure ground chipotle powder and the cajun
green sauce. Fun.

Exhausted but had a ball. Weather was perfect - not
too hot, low humidity. We had a great time. BTW, they
were also selling some hot salsas by some other
companies (can't remember the names).

The farmers market is always open, not just because of
the festival. It is Heaven Hill Farms in Vernon, NJ.

I think they also have a mailing order form with all
the products listed. I didn't get a chance to take one
though.

RisaG, exhausted but happy
