[CH] Ethiopian food

Hi 'heads --

I'm another lurker out for a quick contribution.

I LOVE Ethiopian food. The best I've ever had is in DC, where there are
something like 8 or 9 Ethiopian restaurants in Adams-Morgan. Luckily, we now
have a decent place in Atlanta. (Meskeram, at Lavista and Cheshire Bridge)

The bread someone referred to is "injera." It's usually made over a few days
from a special African flower (teff? tiff?), but Jeff Smith's Immigrant
cookbook has a good recipe you can make quickly, using carbonated soda
water. It's so good I use it for other things (and you can even throw some
chiles into the batter). If anybody wants it, I'll post (I'm too lazy to go
downstairs and get it right now unless I know someone wants it.)

I respectfully disagree with whoever commented that lurkers don't count.
I've been a member of this list since 1995, and even if you don't know me, I
feel like I know all of you. I don't always agree with you (for instance,
I'm particularly horrified by the annual thread about shooting cats), but
I've been here long enough to know things will revert to chiles ASAP. So I
just keep my mouth, and fingers, shut. I may not post regularly, but I've
corresponded with and met several of you, I carry my CH card, and I
regularly use recipes and ideas from this list. I worship el Grande.
Occasionally I post. I DO feel like a member of this community.

Best regards from a member of the Silent Majority,

Sarah
