Well, for all the Canucks who do NOT know what grits are...Grits are 
coarsely ground white dried corn kernels, similar to yellow corn meal, 
but not as finely ground. If you can find coarse grind corn meal, simply 
substitute it, although it does not have the same flavour.
Obviously, the old guy has done it again! Started a contraversial 
thread! Cant believe such diversity of opinion on a simple grain of
