My granny (her father from Pasewalk/Prenzlau area, not far from Stettin) used to make it with real lard, sour cream and tons of onions. I'll even eat the stuff cold as a sandwich with kraut. Gotta remember, the Germans make up one of the largest immigrant groups in the US. They also formed many Vereine. We also have our Straßenfeste in the Midwest, around St. Louis and up in Wisconsin with the Brot und Würste, Paprikaschnitzel, brain sandwich, Berliner Leber mit Nudeln, Strudel und Kuchen. I shouldn't talk about this stuff before supper; I'm drooling! -- ´´ Mark McHugh Tschüß!
