Robert - Maybe I misunderstood your post - did you consider Red Savinas a hybrid? I was under the impression they were not a hybrid, but came from a single, unique plant Frank Garcia of GNS found in a field of habaneros (no tilde), and refined and stabilized through selective breeding to develop the open pollinated Red Savina strain of habanero.
