Not real sure we are all in the same church house here. I just toured the Tobasco bottling facility on Avery Island about three months back and at that time it was still owned by the McIlhenney family. Its a good short little tour and not that far off I-10 for anyone who might be passing that way. I don't believe that Trappeys is made or bottled there. It is bottled [I think] in New Iberia, La which is on a few miles from Avery Island. As a matter of fact, almost every bottle of hot sauce that you pick up is bottled in New Iberia. Almost every house brand and off brand, yep, you got it.....New Iberia. I kind of looked around New Iberia [very small town] for a plant big enough to bottle all that hot sauce. It must be huge. The Tabasco plant is very small and they turn out 250,000 bottles of Tobasco a day with labels in thirty two different languages. Thats not to mention all of the other Tobasco products[and there are a few] that they make. They had things in their gift shop [and samples too] that I had never seen or heard of. If there have been any changes in ownership it may be in their web site which is WWW.Tobasco.com And if you go for a visit, and if you go to the gift shop, take lots and lots of money honey.......
