Not to gloat but rather to rejoice in El Grande's rescue of the spirits here, the orange and Red Savina habs and fatali have flowers and the Ancho's and Pasillas bearing fruit.. We may be $40 billion in the hole on the state budget with gas creeping back up to $2 a gallon and janitors picketing every where but it definitely is chile growin weather here in Sacramento. It's been in the 90's for quite a while, and if I am not mistaken I may have outdoor, no fuss, "over wintered" the plant that generated those chocolate habs from last year sent to the Northeast Chileman in addition to the new plants climbing into the sky. The branches on the chocolate hab remained green stick all winter and now have leaves. Unfortunately, long suffering spouse's tomatoes plants are three feet plus and providing a bit too much shade but that hab bush is ALIVE and trying. With a little luck we may have the makings for Oaxaca dark chocolate mole by mid July. Jim (the chilehead lawyer to distinguish himelf from more venerable Jim's on the list).
