Doug: You mentioned growing chile on your roof in pots. I have so many trees that my chiles don't get enough sun. I live in a one story adobe casita(flat roof variety) so I am thinking of growing chiles on my roof and escaping the shade. Run a hose up there and secure it, then just use a ladder everyday to check my chiles. I wonder if the old colonial Spanish (New Mexicans) did it that way?
