[CH] Cross Country

As all good military officers do, I am being transferred from the
beautiful countryside that belongs to the Fort Meade Army base in
Maryland for some ardous duty in Hawaii (Ha).  I'm leaving Maryland and
stopping in Davenport, IA, then on to Omaha Nebraska for a one night
stop, then it's diagonnally down 80 to 15 into San Diego and finally to
LA.  Anyone have anysuggestions for hot places to stop along that
route?  All input would be greatly appreciated.
