Hey all,
I have a vague memory of someone asking about hot spots in ATL to eat so I
figured I'd offer up a somewhat belated response.
Now that Feeders is no more, its takes a bit of thinking but almost
immediately Bridgetown Grill comes to mind. There are probably about five
or six scattered about the city now. The original is in Little Five Points
and I can say with all confidence that the food is excellent! I went there
yesterday and we ordered up quite a few things. Starting at the top I can
give a rave review to the mango margaritas, the chipotle calamari, the
black and white soup (black = black bean, white= habanero cheese soup
ladled side by side into a bowl), their original jerk chicken with a
raspberry coulis, black beans and rice, with a cuke and dill salad, and
finally the seared glazed tuna (an apricot glaze on an enormous hunk of
tuna, cooked medium rare) with yucca mash and fried plantains. Boy, this
is just making me hungry all over again!!!
There are a few wing places here and there. Taco Macs is good, as
mentioned by someone else, but I think they put too much black pepper in
the wing sauce. Malaya on Collier Rd has good Thai/Malaysian food and the
nearby Nuevo Laredo Cantina offers excellent Mexican food. One place that
I have heard many good things about but have never tried personally is the
Georgia Grill on Peachtree Rd (before Peachtree Battle if you are heading
north). I have heard they have exceptional regional and spicy cuisine.
The only reason I have not been there is because I forget its there! Glad
I reminded myself *g*
That is all I can think of for now. Let me know if I can offer an other
tidbits about my town!
take care,
Suz
