I put 60-70 mousetraps (4 for a buck at Wally-wirld) in the green beans and tomatoes. He got his toes mashed a couple of times and sems to have lost his ardor for green tomatoes. The squirrely-squirelly-squirrelys are a different matter. They set a trap off a couple of times but quickly learned to avoid them. So I went Rube Goldberg: I got a bunch of 48 inch bamboo garden stakes and spread the traps out and gently laid the stakes over the trap triggers and surrounded the tomatoes with the stakes. Now any squirrely-squirrelly-squirrellys that tries to enter the area must travel over a stake. Last night I stepped on a stake and set three traps off; it caused me to jump. You know, when you garden for relaxation it sure can be stressful. carp
