There is also the hot, smoked Spanish Paprika sometimes used (unsmoked too) 
in Portuguese Chourico (Sure-eese) which is red only because of the paprika.
Hot, smoked Spanish (similar to Chipotle) paprika is available from 
thespicehouse.com.
