We made it back. Of course I'll be 'til a year from Tuesday catching up with mail, and proper sequencing will difficult and not attempted in any case. To those of you who recommended restaurants in the Colo Spngs area, many thanks. Since my daughter (see Rogues Gallery) is a C-H and a foreigncuisinophile (I know it's not a word), we did Indian, Mexican, and Thai -- with repeats. If I try to do this with your names, I'm sure to goof, so please insert yourself at the proper place. Sorry, but the El Herradero is closed, but we had eaten there before. La Marguerita was wonderful. The Macaroni Grill as good as touted. Thai Orchid was good, as always. I have to recommend (insert disclaimer)Thai Express, at 3117 S Academy; it has the best, to me, Thai food (Chang Mai style) I've had since my sojourn in SEA. They offer heat levels 1 thru 5, and if you call ahead, they will hand-grind the peppers to give you "Thai Hot". We only found it the day before we left, so I didn't get to go back. Next trip, first!!! Our trip was fraught with disappointment; a pall hung over us (at least a part of the time) because repeated attempts to see/meet the Only Original Jim Campbell failed. Oh, he had excuses: working, going to college, weeding the pepper patch, etc, but I'm deeply disappointed. There was, however, such a delightful package of goodies on his front porch, that I have to forgive him -- and thank him. Jim's wonderful sauces and powders aside, we picked up an armful of sauces for the 'brag' rack. Hope no-one ever tests me on some of them - or on Jim's Backdraft either, for that matter. Enough, at least until we e- again, JC
