Hello all,
Summers finally here...So are the chiles...Aahh bliss...
OK UK Heads, Just thought I'd post this tidbit of info, this years Chile
Fiesta is to be held on the 14th and 15th of August,
at West Dean College (midway between Midhurst and Chichester, just off
A286). This is a horticultural college that holds the National Chile
Collection, each year they grow about 200 varieties in their glasshouses set
within a 2.5 acre walled garden. The college also grow about the same in
Aubergine (eggplants) and tomato vars(lucky students!!). They also have over
300 acres of ornamental gardens, arboretum and parkland to enjoy aswell.
There are stalls selling fresh and dried chiles, sauces, food tasting etc
along with other chile paraphenalia. Talks on chile growing are usually
going on throughout the weekend, and the college has fully laden chile
plants for sale at £2.50-£3.00....

They also have a Totally Tomato show on 4th and 5th September, and an
Apple Day on 17th October.
If anyone has the weekend free and can travel there.. DO.. it's well
worth the trip..
