This is my first time to grow Habanero peppers. (Jalapeno and bell peppers are the only ones I have grown in previous years.) Right now, I have some extraordinarily beautiful, bright red colored Red Savina Habanero peppers on my bushes. The rest of the "loaded" bushes have pale green peppers which have not yet turned red. ( I ordered the 12 plants I have, from Chile Cross Country Nursery, and the plants are beautiful, healthy and strong. I am so pleased with them, and how well they have done, and I don't want to "mess up" on the harvesting!) Should the peppers that are bright red, be picked the minute the pepper becomes entirely red, or is it better to leave them there for a few days to be sure they have really finished ripening (ready for picking)? The ones on the bush, that are red, have been red for 2 days. I also have Orange Habanero peppers, all of which are still green. When they get orange, how long do I leave them to be sure they are as orange as they are going to get, and are ready to pick? I appreciate any advice from those who know about this, and/or have raised these peppers before. (That probably includes everyone else on the list.) Respectfully, Marguerite Ruch
