Hi chile-heads, My name is Lisa. I recently subscribed to the list and I'm finding it to be informative and often times very amusing. I've been a garlic lover all of my life but in the past two years I have become more and more interested in the hot stuff. (Just made some scorching Hab oil this past weekend) I'm the marketing/fund raising director for a small United Cerebral Palsy affiliate in NE Pennsylvania. I have approached our board of directors and my executive director about having a hot foods fest as a fund raiser. They all loved the idea and now I have to figure out how to pull it off. I'd love to hear some of the list members' thoughts and ideas. Some things we have planned for the Hot Fete - hot pepper eating contest eclectic music (trying to get Celtic, reggae, jazz, blues bands - bands will be scheduled all throughout the day local artisans and craftspeople sale of pepper plants and herbs (we have our own greenhouse - used for vocational training) a sit down catered hot and spicy Cajun meal at the end of the day a small winery from our area will do wine tasting vendors ( a local garlic farmer, a couple of herb shops) Has anyone on the list ever attended the annual Chile Pepper Food Festival and Chile Pepper Field Excursion in Bowers, Pennsylvania? Lisa
