Thanks, Jim, for your offer to pick habs this year. I eagerly look forward to seeing hab plants in their full glory, before the frosts have destroyed the tops. Glad to know you plan to camp there this year. I hope to have a little field kitchen going so I can cook the habs down a little before I take them home. Last year I drove home with two 5-gallon buckets of ripe red habs, and it was like having a leaky tear gas cannister in the car. I'm still using the Red Problem #1 sauce I made from those peppers, and the red savina powder I made has caused many a moist eye for me. For those of you not familiar with the fields, they are between Indianapolis and Bloomington, Indiana. A very busy 4-lane highway runs nearby, so if you plan to camp, be ready for a high level of road noise. The setting is an orchard so it's easy to tailgate camp. There are several state park and private campgrounds within a short distance. When I went last year, I ran into leaf-peeping crowds, but it looks like the picking will be earlier in the season this time. I hope to have a grill, and if I get really ambitious I'll break down the New Braunfels for transport. I haven't tried to smoke peppers for a while, so maybe this will be my chance. At any rate I can at least smoke some chicken or fish again. Alex Silbajoris 72163.1353@compuserve.com "Where there's smoke, there's work" - Firesign Theatre
