After some private mail from "Yankee's" on pepper harvest, I thought I would toot my own horn Byron, I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum from you harvest wise. We had our first frost 4 days ago and I've had ice on the windshield the last 3 mornings. I've harvested 4 ripe Hab pods, I have 4 Hab plants and there are 5 or so immature pods on them. I think it's been too cool here at night for them to do well this summer. My Hab plants never got over 10 inches tall. Several varieties did real well this summer though. Thai Dragon, Hot Banana, Ancho, Lemon Drop, Mirasol and something called Chile Red have all given me lots of pods. My Rocotos have been blossoming for a month now and I've been hand pollinating them but I have no fruit set on them. They're coming inside to my hydro garden this fall. Right now the Rocotos are the biggest pepper plants I've got growing. This is the first year I've been real serious about growing chiles. Gonna do some things different next year. At the top of the list is building a greenhouse and some cold frames. Nels, how'd your Habs do this year? Tim in Kalispell > > > >
