Hi Rob, The heat range 100-150 degrees F. will work fine, and won't cook or burn your chiles. And, yes, wash them first, and just be patient. Real dehydration takes lotsa time. Tom in Paris, Tx I've got suggestions between 90 and 200F, is there any hand rule for this. Is it depending of the size or kind? Or is it depending on time you want to dry? ( I don't want to cook or burn them..) And do you clean/wash them before you dry them? ( I was thinking of doing this)
