Jeff, Yes, to NE Tomatillos, and as in other years, mine are only slightly larger at this point than you describe. Ample water and beat the first frost, they'll be fine. This year I perhaps overlimed and I used more than one feeding of "Bloom Booster" in the raised beds. The overflow plants were tucked in anyoldwhere in the yard that got good sun. True to what Byron says, chiles are not necessarily improved by fertilizing unless your soil is badly "played out." Bloom Booster got me the desired flowers and later the fruits, but the plants orphaned to the edges of the yard are nearly as large, not quite so fruitful, but ripening earlier than their fat and sassy cousins in the raised beds. They got one dilute helping of Bloom Booster and no lime. However, as daylength shortens perceptibly, redness is among them. and, (apologies before and after) To all who generalize about mean spiritedness on the list, this neurotic would feel a little less guilty about the occasional reply to unwarranted attacks on listmembers if I didn't also feel that I was being lumped in with the name callers. Since most folks who have responded to attacks on long term members and their businesses with restraint seem to get tarred with the same brush as attackers, I take it that personal and scurrilous Chile business attacks ought to be allowed to stand, unchallenged? And the four letter words, the cursing and swearing? Just grin and bear it? I might be wrong, but before it was vogue to suggest ignoring (deleting) the nincompoops (a notion I support), it was of some small value to establish that the nincompoop was, in fact, a nincompoop. And, if you want to see better humor on here, stop lurking and post some. Apologies to one and all, like the Holy Grail, this cup too shall pass. One of 12, Gareth the ChileKnight (large thank yous to Doug, Marilyn, Chuck, Robert [Robair], Tom, Chet, Dave, Deb, Scott, Suz, and even you Byron [who used his long time on list to praise DaveA's customer service], and to anyone else that I missed.)
