Sisters, brothers, knuckle draggers and neurotics (you know who you are...): Just a little report on what has been going on in chile land. It is just at or past the peak of the season around here (SE Colorado). Fields are full of chile, farms are full of chile, roasters are working overtime, it is good. No hail, no early freeze, just lots of chile. The Pueblo Chile and Frijole festival was this weekend. Check out www.cheiftain.com for pictures and a report. Will be an article today (Sunday) and probably tomorrow, too. Went out to the farms today and bought 3 bushels of chile. Had 2 roasted, and kept 1 raw to use for ristra. Currently, there are 2 bushels of roasted chile sitting on the kitchen table, steaming and making the house smell like what surely heaven will smell like. Tonight's dinner is fresh roasted chiles on fresh french bread. The gabacho chile picker and 1 happy man <<<boz>>>
