I've done this one many times and in much larger quantities and can personally vouch for it. Alex Spicy Glazed Pecans 1/2 c sugar 3 TB water 1 scant tsp salt 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (feel free to get creative here!) 2 c pecan halves Preheat oven to 350. Butter a heavy, large baking sheet. Combine first 4 ingredients in a heavy small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil 2 minutes. Add pecans and stir until pecans are coated with mixture, about 1 minute. Transfer pecans to prepared baking sheet, spreading evenly. Bake until pecans are just beginning to brown, about 13 minutes. Transfer to cookie sheet lined with waxed paper and separate pecans with a fork. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
