In Oregon we have, in cans, tomato paste, about the consistency of mayonnaise, and tomato sauce, about the consistency of what you would want for pasta sauce. You can take tomato sauce right out of the can, add oregano, mushrooms, onions, olive oil and salt and cook it, and call it spaghetti sauce. It's almost spaghetti sauce already.
