Hi all, I have a dehydrator too, was a gift. I think it might be a Mr. Coffee but I can't remember. It has 5 round stacking trays and a fan. That would be one thing that I would look for (fan) for a more even distribution of heat and drying. Mine works great and as someone else mentioned, the smells through the house are wonderful. I usually load mine up at night and let er go! I would like to know how to make jerky in it. I think I know that basics but does someone have a tried and true recipe and process for making it in the dehydrator? Thanks! P.S. I got laughed at the other night when I unscrewed the flood light from the back of the house and ran it out to the garden to run all night under the sheets that covered my peppers but darn if'n it didn't protect those little babies from freezing with temps down around 28 ! ...laugh if you will but I have more peppers still ripening on the plants.
