Back from the business trip to TN/KY, made it through 200+
postings, condensed responses to selected threads:
Byron: You said Sallon grinder, did you mean Salton? I have
a Salton that works quite well. Coarse chops dried chiles in
10 - 15 seconds, powders in under 30. Doesn't leak, under $15.
Gareth: My ancho/poblano took 4EVER to ripen last year. It
was worth the wait, not much heat, but wonderful flavor.
All: My Mr. Coffee dehydrator, (round, stackable, fan driven)
does a greeat job. Heating element is protected from drips.
The trays have lips/grooves that allow them to adjust for height.
Rotate about 1/8 turn and double clearance without surgery.
Predicted temps for last night were 26 F. Around 12:30 A.M.
I put several gallon jugs of hot water around the bases of the
short rows. Sort of an el-cheapo wall-o-water type of thing.
This morning: frost on the truck, frost on the grass, no frost on
the chiles.
Scott...not travelling again 'till next month... KCK
