Plowing through the back issues, I came upon this definition
in the "ALMANAC" section. May/June 1991 pg.90

ORGANIC GARDENING:

     A gardening method in which, rather than being made the
target of pesticides, insecticides, fungicides and other
chemicals, garden pests are controlled by being bored to death
with excerpts from organic farming publications and texts.
