I've never heard of them, but they sound like just the ticket. It would be nice to get some dried onion that isn't A) stale as all get-out, or B) adulterated by junk to keep it "free-flowing" - which seems to always give it a metallic taste. Speaking of dried onions, has anyone tried that at home with a dehydrator? Is it worth the effort? Is there a problem with fumes, like sometimes happens with chiles?
