Looking for some .02 on this idea.

This spring there was a site from Woods Hole Ag Expermintal Station in MA.

They made a greenhouse and heated with manure. They found that 
they could grow leafy veggies. But they had problems with fruiting veggies
One of their conclusions was there was a lower quantity of Infared
Radiation.
in northern area's in the winter months. 

Yesterday I was in my local feed store and remembered from ?? years ago
they used and infrared heat lamp to warm up chicken coops. 

I think that this IR should be close enough for plants.
