I prefer the Absolut myself, but drink either. The differences are subtle. Chilled in the freezer it's good as a shot on a cold day, and also makes a good Cajun martini or gibson. Not bad as a base for a bloody Mary either. Both peppar vodkas taste pretty much as you would expect, straight vodka flavored with hot peppers. They are spicier than I would have expected for a mass market product, and would ignite the average non-chilihead if taken straight. If you don't like straight vodka, then it is unlikely that you would enjoy any of the flavored vodkas by themselves. With mixers, however, many of the flavored vodkas are dangerously smooth. Vanilla vodka with 7-Up (or was it gingerale?) tastes like a cream soda, for example. :{ Rich in Va. http://www.erols.com/richstev ICQ 2269905 Photo Trend Enterprises- A Restaurant Service Company Maybe the problem is the Absolute Peppar. I much prefer the "Stoli" pepper-flavored vodka. Keep it in the freezer, and pour over well frozen ice cubes. I predict you'll have a new respect for the concoction. Tom in Paris, TX This sounds like it might be interesting, but... Has anyone out there tried the Absolut Peppar (SP?) vodka? I haven't been able to find a nice small sized bottle to sample. I did find a small bottle (50ML) of the Mandarin. It may have just been me not being accustomed to drinking this kind of stuff straight, but I thought it tasted as I might imagine turpentine tasting. I enjoy a little mixed in with juice, but straight was awful. I don't imagine the Peppar would taste much better straight, but mixed with?????? Any reports? Thanks, -E.- (Who will maybe just stick with Kostritzer for a while.)
