>Is it a problem having a non-CH partner? I've found no problems, aside from usually eating later than the rest of the family... I generally make a dish which can be spiced up and, not wanting to use 2 sets of pots and pans, will remove a portion when partially done and "finish" it while my wife and son are getting started. I have found my wife to be very supportive of my chilehead antics, short of actually eating them with me. Our kitchen (we bought our first house this summer) has curtains made using chile pepper bandanas, a chile pepper ceiling fan, too many bottles of hot sauce to mention, pepper clocks, figurines, lunch boxes, place mats, and even chile-motif dust pans. I even have one cabinet dedicated entirely to dried peppers and other "noxious" (her term) substances. It imparts a deadly aroma to the room when opened (probably from the 2 one-gallon ziplock bags of Red Savina powder and another 4 or 5 of dried, but unground, other varieties. My chile interests are encouraged, including a weekend road trip in early October to visit with Jim Campbell and his Chile Field-Of-Dreams. The only annoying thing about having a non-CH spouse is the glow of satisfaction on their faces when you've consumed something one step past your tolerance level. Once the "danger" has passed, that smug grin they adopt will strain any relationship. (Just kidding) Just to keep things on an official CH level... The Chilehead Rogues Gallery is being reconstructed from the ground up. I lost a number of addresses in the Great Computer Crash of 1999 and so am working to reconstruct things for the update. If you want to save this weary CH some effort, you could re-register at http://forsite.net/chrogues or drop me an e-mail at ThePepperMan@cs.com. My web design ability has grown so you can look forward to a better constructed and aesthetic site in the near future. I apologize for the lack of work on the Rogues Gallery but assure you that from now on things will be better. Be on the lookout for the official grand-reopening of what I hope is an enjoyable resource for list members. Thanks for tolerating my rambling and now... Back to your regularly scheduled mailbox!
