Hi there, Just noticed that many of you CH-ers have spouses (spice?) or other sig. others who don't like chiles. Talk about marrying for love! My husband and I only disagree on a couple of foodstuffs: I won't eat bell peppers (disgusting stuff) and my husband won't eat organ meats and is allergic to eggs. I do miss quiches and will eat a Scotch egg when he's not around, but it's our love of the hot which keeps the spice in our lives. There's a benefit as well. I always eat all the egg and liver dishes which show up on the Indonesian riistafels we order whenever we're in Holland and they're brill. The rest we share, like the good couple we are. Last night we sat around all warm and cosy, having eaten Khao Soi (curried Thai noodles from the recipe in _South East Asian Food_, by Rosemary Brissenden, using jalapeno chicken stock from last weekend's enchiladas to thin the coconut milk) during a break in the tree trimming. Is it a problem having a non-CH partner? Has anyone ever found it too big a hurdle to domestic bliss? Do you have nights out with CH buddies or just get by with condiments? Just curious. Cheers, Virginia
