Happy New Year to all you CH'ers! While doing a little research on "old Florida," I came across a recipe for "old sour," a sauce made by the original settlers in the Florida Keys. Old Sour 2 c. lime juice 1 Tbsp. salt Hot chile, to taste Strain lime juice, add salt, stir, let rest at room temperature for several weeks. Then bottle and cork and remove to a cool place. Supposedly, it improves with age. One writer suggested that the chile be suspended by a thread and removed after a few days....however, we CH'ers might want to leave it in a while longer! It was used primarily on fish/seafood, but I imagine it could have other uses as well. Good luck! Myron at the beach .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:.
