TIA. > > The Chile Cheese Head > Dan McWilliams Dan, The rewards are definitely worth the effort. I have been over wintering Rocotos in Northern CA for several years now and have one plant that is entering it's 4th year. This year I yielded almost 10 pounds of peppers. Even with this success, I have had difficulty getting more than 6 peppers out of a first year plant. It's always the second year when the plant really kicks in. Generally, I get flowers in the late sprint and summer with peppers setting in July. Peppers start ripening in September and are usually done by December. This is CA though so you may not be able to continue outside this late in the season. As far as pollination goes, I have not had problems with a single plant self pollinating. Check out my web page for more information on over wintering. Good luck Joe http://members.home.net/chileweb/ http://members.home.net/chileweb/1999_garden.html
