Mr. Shapiro is Jewish and probably doesn't believe in Hell or the Devil. Perhaps someone should contact him and get his take on Monsanto's behaviour. My experience in corporate America suggests that corporations are rarely as cynically mercenary as some people portray them. A case in point here is the seed issue. The farmers who bought the seeds knew when they bought them that the seeds were patented and they could not, legally, collect and reuse them. They did not expect Monsanto to follow up but got caught. Tough. I have no sympathy and little empathy even though I was raised on a farm. Farmers are, nowadays, master economists. Buying seeds from which no seed crop can be expected is a pure economic consideration, just like buying hybrid seeds. All farmers understand this issue completely and deal with it constantly.
